The rules of using Sakina.
What you can do with Sakina, what your subscription covers, and how refunds work.
Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using Sakina: Prayer Focus (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use without reservation. The agreement is between you and Riad Mahi, an independent developer based in France ("we", "us"). If you do not accept these terms, do not install or use the App.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in strict compliance with these terms and Apple's App Store rules.
You may not reproduce, redistribute, sublicense, modify, decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the App except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
3. Description of the service
Sakina is an iOS focus app for prayer time. It calculates prayer schedules from your location, schedules notification reminders, and can block distracting apps during the prayer window using Apple's Screen Time permissions (FamilyControls).
The service is provided "as is." Prayer time accuracy depends on the quality of the location provided by your device and the availability of the AlAdhan API. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of these third-party services.
4. Plans and pricing
- Free — access to core features: prayer times, basic reminders, and manual focus session.
- Premium Monthly — auto-renewable monthly subscription. Unlocks advanced features: app blocking via Screen Time, full focus profile customization, session stats, and prayer journal.
- Premium Yearly — auto-renewable annual subscription with the same feature set at a reduced rate.
Prices are displayed in the App and at checkout. Apple may adjust displayed prices in accordance with local currency rules.
5. Subscriptions and renewal
Premium subscriptions renew automatically. The amount shown at purchase is charged to your Apple ID and renews at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You manage and cancel subscriptions from the App Store (Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future charges; access remains active until the end of the current period.
6. Refunds
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled directly by Apple under their refund policy. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you reside in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you benefit from a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive. However, by immediately accessing Premium features after purchase, you consent to the commencement of service and acknowledge that this right of withdrawal may be forfeited. For any question, contact contact@riadmahi.com.
7. Acceptable use
You are solely responsible for your use of the App. You may not:
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or tamper with subscription verification mechanisms
- Use the App in violation of applicable law or the rights of third parties
- Attempt to extract, reproduce, or distribute the App's source code, graphic assets, or content
- Use automated means (bots, scripts) to interact with the App
8. Third-party services
The App integrates the following third-party services, each subject to their own terms and privacy policies:
- AlAdhan — prayer time calculation
- Google (Firebase Analytics) — anonymous usage measurement
- Apple (StoreKit 2 / FamilyControls) — purchase management and app blocking
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.
9. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that the calculated prayer times will conform to all local religious authorities. You should verify prayer times with a competent religious source if required.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App is capped at the greater of (a) the amounts you actually paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss, lost profits, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be legally excluded or capped (gross negligence, fraud, or statutory consumer rights).
11. Intellectual property
The App, its source code, design, visuals, content, and all its components are the exclusive property of Riad Mahi and are protected by intellectual property law. This license grants you no ownership rights in the App.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. For any data deletion request or subscription-related question, contact contact@riadmahi.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App for breach of these terms, with reasonable prior notice except where the breach is severe.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the App and will take effect 30 days after publication. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. If you reside in the EU or the United Kingdom, mandatory consumer protections under the law of your country of residence remain applicable. Disputes are submitted to the competent courts of the consumer's place of residence for consumer disputes, or the courts of Paris otherwise.
