Sakina collects a strictly limited set of data necessary for the app to function:

• Approximate location — used exclusively to calculate prayer times via the AlAdhan API. Your position is never stored on a Sakina server, nor shared with any third party beyond the API request itself.
• Notification preferences — reminder times and enabled prayers are stored locally on your device (UserDefaults). No notification data is transmitted off-device.
• Subscription status — managed entirely by Apple StoreKit 2. Sakina checks premium status via StoreKit and stores no payment information whatsoever.
• Anonymous usage events — collected by Firebase Analytics (Google) in aggregated, anonymous form: focus session started, duration, prayer name. No personally identifiable information is included in these events.

Sakina does not collect and has no access to:

• Your name, email address, or any real-world identity
• The content of your focus sessions or prayer journal — stored locally on-device only
• Apps blocked via Screen Time / FamilyControls — managed exclusively by iOS and never leaving your device
• Health data or biometric information
• Contacts, photos, or any other system data

Sakina relies on a small number of third-party providers to operate:

• AlAdhan (aladhan.com) — a free public prayer times API. Receives a request containing your approximate GPS coordinates in order to return prayer times. No additional personal data is transmitted.
• Google (Firebase Analytics) — collects anonymous usage events. GDPR-compliant via Standard Contractual Clauses. You may opt out at any time from the app's settings.
• Apple — distributes the app via the App Store, processes in-app purchases (StoreKit 2), and manages Screen Time permissions (FamilyControls). Apple's processing is governed by their own privacy policy.

Processing carried out by Sakina rests on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — calculating prayer times from your location is strictly necessary to deliver the app's core service.
• Consent — collection of analytics events via Firebase is subject to your explicit consent, obtained during onboarding and revocable at any time in settings.
• Legitimate interest — verifying subscription status via StoreKit is necessary to provide premium features.

If you reside in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights over your personal data:

• Right of access to your data
• Right to rectification of inaccurate information
• Right to erasure — uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data. For Firebase Analytics data, contact us and we will forward the request to Google
• Right to data portability
• Right to object to or restrict processing
• Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

Locally stored data (preferences, journal) is retained for as long as the app is installed and deleted upon uninstallation. Firebase Analytics events are retained for 14 months in accordance with Google's policy. No other personal data is held on our servers, as we operate none.

Local data is protected by iOS's sandboxing mechanism. All communications with the AlAdhan API and Firebase are conducted exclusively over HTTPS. Sakina stores no passwords or sensitive credentials.

Sakina is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@riadmahi.com.

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app or applicable regulations. Material changes will be announced in the app and will take effect 30 days after publication. The current version is always available at this URL with its last-updated date.
